How am I going to use blogs in my group lesson ideas assignment?

Over the last few lessons, we have seen how ICT is being used to support meaningful learning. The blog is one of the more powerful tools that can be utilized for such a purpose. Blogs can be used in my group lesson idea assessment, if we were to choose a topic like atmospheric pressure.

One of the most important affordances of a blog is it can be seen as an ecosystem of information created between us and our learners. We can attach relevant images to show them how the measuring tools of the atmospheric pressure look like. Video can also be posted to enhance our learners' understanding as well. The video that is posted below shows a demonstration that is performed to illustrate the effects of atmospheric pressure that can be abstract to most learners.

Besides that, we can assess our learners' understanding when they post their reflection on their relevant topic an. I feel it will also give a feeling of being connected to the contents and the other peers in the class if there is an active participation of the learners posting comments in their friends' blog after class hours.

What is my take for today's lesson?

I feel that Excel is a powerful tool that can be used to explore the relationship between variables in an equation in a "dynamic" aspect. This means that the charts that were created are not fixed and it changes when we input data in the cell types. In future in our lesson planning, we can have the students to observe the effect on the charts and predict the behaviour and propose relationships themselves. Based on the affordances of Excel, I believe our lesson can be geared towards that of a constructivist based approach.

I hope to know more function of this software in my next lesson.
